I am very honored to be the Assistant Principal of Sylvandale Middle School! This is my second year here, working with Principal Brian Walton, as we support Sylvandale students, staff, families, and the community in moving our school and students forward toward a bright future!  I have been an educator for 27 years.  Throughout my career, I have fulfilled many roles to support students.  Specifically, I have experience as a Principal, Vice Principal, STEM TOSA, Blended Learning Instructor, Classroom Teacher, and Athletic Director.   In each role, my goal is to cultivate a climate that supports student achievement, growth, and success!

Our Sylvandale School Vision is to "Empower and inspire all students to dream, achieve, and exceed their goals!"  We do this by offering relevant Common Core instruction through our district-adopted curriculum. In addition, we offer classes in Instrumental Music, Culinary Arts, and Life Skills.  Students learn the value of team sports and competition through our afterschool competitive sports like Basketball, Soccer, Volleyball, and Track & Field.  We enjoy interacting within our community through events like our Campus Beautification Day, Cinco de Mayo Celebration, STEM Night, Literacy Night, Math & Science Night, and other exciting events!  Through our partnership with School2Home, we provide students and families access to technology, as well as, support teachers in innovative instructional practices that utilize technology within their classroom.

There is much to be excited about as we move forward. Go Bears!
