Health Careers Academy

Health Career Academy- The Health Career Academy, HCA, was the first career academy developed in partnership with the East Side Union High School District and UC Berkeley.  HCA was created as a way to give students a glimpse into health careers before high school.  Now several years later, HCA is a thriving pathway that leads into Andrew Hill's Medical Magnet Program.  This pathway starts in 7th grade where students are trained in First Aid and Stop the Bleed.  In 8th grade students are trained in hands only CPR.  Both grade levels are exposed to medical terms, projects, guest speakers and field trips.  For more information on the Medical Magnet Program at Andrew Hill go to
